ATTACK! of the Killer Thong® is a comedy-horror that follows the
adventures of three off-beat lady friends who plan a surprise birthday party for
their girlfriend Alex. Each character
celebrates a feminine stereotype: Alex
is the tomboy, Julie is the glamour puss, Debbie is the intellectual and Mandy
is the brave one.
The film’s original
plot is a journey into the subconscious and a throwback to the stalker-killer genre of horror movies of the ’70s
and ’80s like Friday the 13th, Halloween, and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
It follows
the “Final Girl” plot structure and explores the theme of zombies and waking up
from bad dreams. The visuals focus on
leopard-print fashion and contain elements of surrealism that hint at the
film’s dream sequences. The mainstream
question of whether men look sexy in thongs is also examined in a unique and
quirky way.
The original
screenplay entered Development in February 2007 and Pre-Production in March
2009. The production went into Principal
Photography on January 23, 2010 and will enter Post-Production in September 2010. It is slated for Release in 2012.
The entire
production will be shot in true High Definition at various locations throughout
Halifax and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and in Moncton, New Brunswick. ATTACK! of the Killer Thong® is written, directed and produced by Reno
Anastasio of Healing Light Films (formerly Haliflicks Films).
ATTACK! of the Killer Thong® will be released and distributed to
DVD by the American Independent Distribution company R-squared Films.
